The Role:

We have different roles for the UAE National and depending on the experience, qualifications and interest, the appropriate role will be offered.

All roles are shopfloor based and are either a ‘Sales Associate’ position or a ‘Beauty Assistant’ position for our various brands.

A ‘Sales Associate’ or ‘Beauty Advisor’ is someone who works in a multinational team, fully follows operating procedures, and provides customers with complete service and an enjoyable shopping experience to maximise sales, ensuring that the department is presented to company standards, and that stock loss risks are absolutely minimised.

Director Education at British Council

Job aim

To lead on the strategic development and delivery of large scale education projects in NENA in support of regional and global strategies; and position the British Council as the partner for choice for UK stakeholders as well as regional governments, institutions and other key stakeholders for education related activity in NENA.

1 Duty (25%): Strategy

To provide strategic leadership and coordination for all regional large scale programme (LSP) work in education across NENA.

Standards

• All education work significantly contributes to the NENA vision and strategy outcomes

• Clear integration of education with the NENA portfolio, programme areas and BC corporate education offer

• Targets set, monitoried and evaluated for all education LSPs and reviews contribute to a continual cycle of strategic development

• Regional Director (RD), country directors (CDs), sector and programme leads in the UK are satisfied with contributions to strategic development

• Key stakeholders are engaged and regard the UK through the British Council as a partner of choice

• Successful income generation strategies in place for all NENA education LSPs which enable NENA to expand educational work in the region

2 Duty (30%): Delivery

To provide overall leadership guidance of country teams managing NENA’s education LSPs

Standards

• NENA education LSPs and Full Cost Recovery (FCR) projects delivered to impact and financial targets including scorecard, which is the BCs principle organisational tool for monitoring and evaluation

• Strong financial control coordinated and achieved through country teams

• Lead on planning for NENA education LSPs/FCR to the guidelines set by the corporate centre

• Identify training and development needs of country teams to enable them to fully realise and delivery LSPs/FCR in country and ensure capacity building takes place

• Clear marketing and communications plans in place for all NENA education LSPs/FCR

• Customer service standards fully met

3 Duty (15%): Design and development of new opportunities

Where opportunities exist, to lead on commissioning large scale education programmes for NENA and/or contribute to the development of global LSPs ensuring a clear pipeline for education and continuity in the sector including for FCR

Standards

• Market research needs identified, prioritised and carried out to maximise the design and development of new opportunities and enhancement of existing LSPs

• Identification and design of commissioned projects is based on credible education sector expertise and experience

• Clear pipeline of projects to ensure continuity in education in NENA

• Education projects are strategically aligned to NENA and global strategy with clear outcomes and targets

• Strong financial case including income built into each commissioned project

• Strong monitoring and evaluation and marketing and communications strategies built into any commissioned project

4 Duty (15%) Partnership and relationship management

To develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and partners in the NENA region and the UK such as government ministries, institutional leaders, professional bodies and networks as well as with the UK education sector teams; and support CDs and country teams in each country to develop and strengthen relationships in education in each NENA country.

• Working with CDs maintain regular contact with key players in education as defined above

• Regular contact with donor and other international specialists in NENA

• BC UK education team satisfied there has been regular and productive contact

Role Purpose

• To support the development of the UAE insurance businesses, helping to achieve penetration, revenue and PBT targets.

• Achieving buy-in to the development of Insurance, at all levels within the business, to ensure that growth and achievement of AOP remains a priority despite competing interests within the business.

• Providing a compelling case to secure change within areas that may not have been focused on insurance previously.

• Having a fundamental understanding of Insurance from a product, marketing and operational perspective as a pre-cursor to working with businesses to increase penetration of Insurance within their customer base.

Manager Corporate Services – Sharjah Branch – Corporate Customer Services(CCS) – Commercial Banking at HSBC

Role Purpose

Job Holder must be fully conversant with FIM/ local and main international requirements regarding documentation / operational procedures / guarantees / bills discounted / account opening /money laundering and international trade finance policies and procedures. As Trade and Supply Chain(TSC) functions form a part of CCS units located at the branches, the jobholder is also required to overlook TSC functions including Guarantees. Main Responsibilities

Impact on the Business

• Strict implementation of accepted rules regulations, practices, procedures and controls, following to CCS procedure manuals as well as other procedure manuals.

• Ensure trouble free and error less operations of the department in

accordance with procedures

• Ensure local and group compliance regulations are followed.

• Ensure that internal and external audit recommendations are properly addressed.

• Ensure accurate submission of management reports/data within set deadlines.

Customers / Stakeholders

• Liaising with internal/external customers for prompt and accurate handling of work related to account opening and other operational activities relating to CCS. Ensuring documentation taken is in order and follows up for any deficiencies. By providing professional comprehensive and high quality advisory service to customers. Complaints are handled Effectively

• Maintenance of a “clear desk’ policy

• Providing speedy response to customer queries in line with banks standards and accurate follow-up of queries to ensure service standards are met and contribute to retention of existing business.

• Feedback on improvement of processes , efficiency and procedures

• Constructing inter/intra department relationships to ensure operational workflow between CCS and related departments are organised efficiently and timely

• Manage cross selling of group services and enhancement of service image of the bank

Leadership & Teamwork

• Commitment and contribution to overall team performance

• Development of learning philosophy

• Contribution in building team spirit in overall CCS

• Active participation in extra duties of Commercial Banking

• Contribute to the development and performance of staff

• Obtain buy-in as appropriate from business partners, working with country/sales heads to ensure adequate resources to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

• Monitoring and regulating the smooth and error free processing of CCS work in order to avoid any operational losses

• Provide value added suggestions for CCS business

• Strict control of CCS operational cost and maximise income by levying applicable charges.

Key Challenges

The jobholder’s major challenges are organising and Managing of efficient and trouble-free activity of CCS related work at SHJ. Analytical and systematic approach is essential for effective implementation of all day activities.

The jobholder should be extremely accurate, attentive, with strong commitment to the responsibilities. Ongoing continuous development of professional side is also required.

In the area of responsibility, assist the Regional Loss Prevention Manager to implement strategic initiative to significantly reduce/minimise areas of risk related security, stockloss, and safety. To focus and advise on “Best Practice” in respect of Loss Prevention opportunities within the business, offering solutions to maximise profit and minimise risk

The Responsibilities:

* Provide prompt and professional investigation service to the company in relation to theft, malpractice and fraud, report findings to Line Managers/Loss Prevention Manager and communicates with external agencies and Police where appropriate.

* Conducts or direct surveillance of suspects and premises to identify breaches of Company policies and recommend disciplinary action to the Line Manager.

* Investigates shrinkage results as required.

* Visits stores as required in the area of responsibility to conduct Loss Prevention Audits, reports findings to Line Manager/Operations Manager.

* Audits Warehouse/Stores for health & safety to ensure best practice, takes prompt and corrective action in areas of non-compliance, reports findings to Line/Operation Manager.

* Ensure fire precautions are in place and that fire evacuation routines are established, rehearsed regularly and that the necessary logs are maintained.

* Conduct Loss Prevention Training for Security / Store Management & Staff.
