Pak banks’ profits up but NPLs stay high in H1

Commercial banks’ profits have risen sharply, after two comparatively less attractive years, the latest business analysis indicate. But the overall amount of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) stays high, too. The six-month combined profits of 25 bourse-listed commercial banks rose 33 per cent to June 30, the first half of calendar year-2010, the results unveiled this week show.
